Anna C. Catalano manages an active board portfolio, serving as an independent director for both public corporations and not-for-profit organizations. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Willis Towers Watson, Kraton Corporation, and HollyFrontier Corporation. She is a certified Board Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and a board member for the NACD Texas TriCities Chapter. In the not-for-profit sector, Ms. Catalano is a member of the National Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association, a Board Member of the Houston Grand Opera, and an Honorary Co-Founder of the Kellogg Innovation Network of Northwestern University.
With over 30 years of corporate experience including over a fifteen years of service on public boards, Ms. Catalano is a renowned expert on the topics of marketing and strategic branding, international business, and an outspoken champion of women in business. Her extensive career spanned three continents in both operational and functional roles. In 1995 as President, Amoco Orient Oil Company in Beijing, China, establishing the company’s downstream presence in the PRC. As Senior Vice President for Amoco in 1998, she was responsible for the company’s US retail business. In her final executive role as Group Vice President, Marketing for BP in London, she was instrumental in repositioning the BP brand, and a primary voice behind the campaign to establish BP’s “beyond petroleum” positioning.
Ms. Catalano is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and has been recognized on Fortune’s ranking of “The Most Powerful Women in International Business”. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics including leadership, board governance, innovation, and the advancement of women in business. Patricia Diaz DennisDirector, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Entravision, and U.S. Steel
Patricia Diaz Dennis was Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at AT&T until she retired in November 2008. Ms. Diaz Dennis serves on the Boards of Directors of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Entravision, and U.S. Steel. She also sits on the LBJ Family Wealth Advisors Advisory Board and chairs the Sanctions Panel for The Global Fund. She was chair of Girl Scouts of the USA from 2005-2008. Ms. Diaz Dennis received three Presidential appointments, confirmed by the U.S. Senate: Member, National Labor Relations Board (1983-86); Commissioner, Federal Communications Commission (1986-89) and Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs (1992-93).
Among her many awards, in June 2012, the Women and the Law Section of the Texas State Bar selected Ms. Diaz Dennis to receive the Sarah T. Hughes Women Lawyers of Achievement award. In November 2009, the National Hispana Leadership Institute presented her its national Mujer award. In April 2008, Texas Diversity magazine named her one of eight “Most Powerful and Influential Women in Texas” and gave her a Glass Ceiling Award; in February 2008, Hispanic magazine named her one of the top 25 best Latinos in business and she received the 2007 Association of Fundraising Professionals Award for her ongoing commitment to volunteerism and philanthropy. Ms. Diaz Dennis was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame in 2002.
She holds a law degree from Loyola University of Los Angeles and an undergraduate degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.

David Swinford, President and Chief Executive Officer, joined Pearl Meyer in 1998. Dave works closely with boards to link compensation with business and leadership development strategies in order to build and maintain strong executive teams that create value over the long term. He provides a strong focus on developing performance standards, balancing retention with pay for performance alignment, and compensation-related corporate governance issues. For more than 35 years, Dave has worked with boards and management teams in all major industries.
Dave previously served as senior managing director and head of Pearl Meyer’s New York office. Prior to joining the firm, he was a managing director and worldwide partner of William M. Mercer, Incorporated, where he was a national practice leader for executive compensation. Dave also has served as a vice president at Towers Perrin, with worldwide responsibility for the executive compensation consulting practice, and in positions at Sibson & Company and Harris Corporation. He holds BS, MS, and JD degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
Dave works closely with the National Association of Corporate Directors on director education and intellectual capital issues, and serves on WorldatWork's Executive Rewards Advisory Council. He writes and lectures regularly on issues related to executive compensation and board governance. He is on the board of PM&P Holdings LLC, and chairs the board of the Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
