The pace at which the business environment is evolving shows no sign of pause, with cybersecurity and other critical risks becoming more complex and forcing the board agenda to expand. Board agendas continue to grow to oversee the impact and opportunity presented by fast-moving and disruptive forces. Private companies operate in an exciting, dynamic environment full of risks and opportunity. Directors joined as we discussed current trends and challenges for private company boards and review highlights from the 2017-18 NACD Private Company Board Governance Survey.
Lisa is a client serving partner that has service clients of all sizes. She has over 30 years of audit and advisory experience. Lisa has served most recently served companies in the middle market and privately which have afforded her significant experience in overseeing audit services on a global basis, and have provided her with significant experience in advising clients on issues involving mergers and acquisitions, debt financing, SEC registrations and private placements.
Lisa is well connected globally and has traveled extensively throughout the world in working with client personnel and related Ernst & Young teams. Her international experience includes serving as the coordinating U.S. GAAP engagement partner on Deutsche Telekom with primary responsibilities including coordination and review/audit of quarterly and annual U.S. GAAP information for inclusion in SEC filings. In addition, Lisa coordinated the U.S. GAAP reviews for various other European Telecommunication Companies, including those in Norway, Russia and Poland. Lisa also served two years as the engagement partner on Telstra, in Melbourne, Australia.
Lisa has consistently delivered outstanding, hands-on service to her clients. She is comfortable working in a complex multidimensional organization. Her executive presence, combined with her engaging style, allows her to work effectively both in the board room and with senior management, as well as with business and functional teams (e.g., internal audit, controllership, tax, treasury).
Lisa joined the Kansas City office of Ernst & Young in 1988. In 2004, Lisa transferred to the San Antonio office as an audit engagement partner serving AT&T. Lisa became the San Antonio Office Managing Partner in 2011 and is now actively involved in the community. Lisa serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas State Board of Accountancy, the United Way, San Antonio Medical Foundation, San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and Texas Business Hall of Fame.
Lisa graduated from the University of Kansas in 1988 where she received a BS in Accounting and Business Administration.
Robert has over 12 years of experience, with a background in transaction diligence and auditing. He has advised both private and public clients on more than 150 acquisitions, recapitalizations, dispositions, restructurings and carve-out transactions; involving numerous structures including joint ventures, partnerships, REITs, divestitures, full enterprise sales, and MLPs.
Robert specializes in providing buy-side and sell-side advisory services to clients in the energy sector including upstream, downstream, energy infrastructure and oil field services, assisting private equity firms, Corporations and energy operating companies involved in M&A transactions and broader advisory activities both domestic and cross-border.
Additionally, Robert has been involved on transactions involving organizations within the Construction, Distribution, Gaming, Logistics, Manufacturing, Media, Mining, Refining, Real Estate, Retail, Software, Telecommunications, and Technology industries.
