Boards are facing increased scrutiny and liability exposure in relation to cybersecurity. Thirty-eight percent (38%) of corporate board members said they view cybersecurity as a top threat for 2018, yet just thirty-seven percent (37%) of directors said they feel confident that their company is properly secured against a cyberattack, according to a recent survey conducted by NACD. It is imperative that the board ask the right questions to understand cybersecurity risk exposure from system vulnerability,human error, and direct attack perspective.

At KPMG, Dave has accountability to help drive our national strategy, thought leadership, and Go-to-Market efforts around cyber defense, governance, and new service delivery capabilities.
Prior to joining KPMG, Dave served as Vice President of Cyber Security at Target Corporation. In that capacity, he built a next-generation cyber defense capability comprised of Cyber Threat Intelligence, Incident Detection and Response, Red Teaming, Security Testing, Insider Threat and Data Protection, Vulnerability Management, and Cyber Engineering. He was responsible for the creation of a Cyber Fusion Center to accelerate cyber risk analysis and defense measures in response to today’s continually evolving threats. Prior to Target, Dave worked at Mandiant where he led Professional Services for Canada, Central United States, and Latin America.
