Chapter Selected Jenn Cox as its new Chapter Executive Director Succeeding Julie Pitts
HOUSTON, TEXAS (March 7, 2017) – The Texas TriCities Chapter (serving Houston, Austin and San Antonio) of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), completed an extensive search to replace its former executive director, Julie Pitts. Ms. Pitts recently was promoted to serve as a regional director for the NACD national office in Washington, DC. Ms. Pitts served as executive director of the Texas TriCities Chapter for the past six years and stewarded exceptional programming and membership growth across all three markets while working alongside the Board of Directors and three advisory boards to serve the chapter members and advance exemplary board leadership in the local market.
Chairman David Preng remarked, “I am honored to express my greatest appreciation to Julie for her service and dedication to the TriCities Chapter over the past six years. She has taken us to new heights and secured our position as an NACD leading Chapter. Though there is some sadness with her departure as executive director, she will be with us, and in her new role, give us a greater connection with National and new perspectives with the chapter system at large. With Jenn and Julie we will be able to reach new heights. Julie - thanks again and best wishes in your new role.”
The search committee was led by chapter president Bud Giesinger, and included David Preng, Chair, Deborah Cannon, Alan Crain, Barbara Duganier, Bill Kacal, Steve Newton, Rick Pontin (Austin Advisory Board Chair), and Mary Ricciardello. Chapter treasurer, Bob Creager and San Antonio Advisory Board Chair, Don Cook, provided additional oversight.
President Giesinger commented, "We are so excited to have someone of Jenn's experience and talent leading the chapter. Her joining us will no doubt provide new ideas and thoughts into our program planning and membership activities. I'm so appreciative of all the board members who helped in the process of bringing Jenn on board and I'm certain our members will share my excitement once they meet and work with Jenn."
Ms. Cox stated, “I am delighted to serve as the next executive director of the NACD Texas TriCities Chapter and to support the mission of the chapter to act as the center of gravity and knowledge exchange for local directors by convening world-class NACD programs. I am committed to working closely with our exceptional board of directors, advisory board members, sponsors, and regional and national leadership to contribute to the national organization’s membership retention and growth goals.”
