In collaboration with SecureWorks, this first installment of our Future of the Workforce series will address the human capital challenges companies are likely to face as they increase their dependence on the internet to execute core business functions and grow revenue. During this one-hour webinar we’ll discuss what bench-strength will mean for the interconnected, digital-dependent business, particularly as that increased connectedness opens new avenues for cyber threats and risks. Both cybersecurity and information management skills are in great demand to help mitigate the risks, but a global shortage of cybersecurity talent and the growing complexity of cyber programs together place a heavy cost burden on companies today. What’s more, the increasingly cross-functional approach to managing cybersecurity risk means that formerly technical leaders must evolve into enterprise risk management leaders. Join us to explore some key questions about acquiring and applying the right information security talent to both grow the business and protect critical assets in the future: • Do we have the right information security leader and what is our succession plan? • How can we manage cybersecurity risk more efficiently so that we aren’t caught in an endless loop of hiring and expanding headcount as our security program matures and becomes more complex? • What does the information security and information management workforce of the future look like so we can be planning ahead?

Given the new administration in Washington and the impending changes to the SEC, some corporate governance rules and disclosure requirements are unlikely to have the same support. We have already seen some requirements under review and potential repeal-- such as those requiring CEO pay ratio disclosure. However, even if regulations change, shareholders are likely to continue to encourage companies to provide substantive disclosure on issues such as company efforts to promote positive social and environmental changes. For example, in his annual letter to S&P 500 CEOs, Blackrock CEO Larry Fink emphasized the importance of corporate stewardship at this time of uncertainty. Fink called on corporations to craft long-term strategies that address the changing global environment, including pay inequity, environmental and social issues, and retirement insecurity for an aging population. State Street also put a spotlight on corporate stewardship in its annual letter to companies in which it invests, urging boards to increase disclosure on their strategic approach to climate change and other key social issues and risk. Most recently, State Street threatened to vote against directors at companies that lack a woman on their board. Join us for this important discussion about how this environment will impact how companies do business, and how their boards need to balance the pressure from shareholders with the changing rules coming out of Washington, and the impact on overall strategy going forward.
