Jay A. Brown was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE: CCI) in June 2016. Mr. Brown serves on the Board of Directors for Crown Castle. Previously, Mr. Brown was Crown Castle’s Chief Financial Officer from July 2008 to May 2016. Prior to that, Mr. Brown served as Treasurer of Crown Castle from May 2004. Since joining Crown Castle in August 1999, he has served in a number of positions in corporate development and corporate finance. Prior to joining Crown Castle, Mr. Brown worked for a start-up health care company and Arthur Andersen LLP. Mr. Brown holds a BBA from Baylor University.
Mr. Brown serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Wireless Industry Association and the Advisory Board of Governors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. Mr. Brown also serves on the Advisory Board of Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University.
Rodney ChaseDirector, Tesoro Corporation and Hess Corporation
Rodney Chase served on the BP plc Board for 11 years; first as CEO of Marketing & Refining, then as CEO of Exploration & Production, and from 1999 until his retirement in 2003 as Deputy Group Chief Executive. He spent five years as Chairman and CEO of BP America before joining the main Board in 1992. Previously, he was the Group Treasurer and Chief Executive of BP Finance for four years.
Rodney is a Director of Tesoro Corporation in San Antonio, Texas and a Director of Hess Corporation in New York. He served as Chairman of Genel Energy and as Chairman of Petrofac Limited. He was Deputy Chairman of Tesco plc, a Director of Diageo plc, a Director of British Oxygen and a Member of the International Advisory Board of Lehman Brothers – all in the UK. In the USA, he previously served as Chairman of Nalco and as Chairman of CSC.
Rodney served as Founding Chairman of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Chairman of the UK Emissions Trading Group, Executive Board Member of the American Petroleum Institute, Member of the UK Advisory Committee on Business and the Environment, Member of the UK Roundtable, Non-Executive Director of the World Conservation Monitoring Centre and Director of The Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum. In 2013, he was recognized as an honoree in the NACD Directorship 100.

Chancellor Hamby joined the faculty of National Defense University in October 2014 having attained the rank of Rear Admiral and then retiring from the U.S. Navy in the fall of 2012. Her military career focused on the employment of telecommunications, space and computer systems to make information available for command and control of the Force and to enhance decision making at all levels of the chain of command. She served as commanding officer both of a regional telecommunications and networking site in the southeast United States and of a major information hub in Italy supporting military communications from Iceland to Iraq. Her Washington, DC service included providing analytic support to the Chief of Naval Operations to validate and justify Navy investments in space, cyber and information programs. During a one year assignment in Baghdad, Iraq she played a key role in untangling information disconnects and made substantive contributions to the Coalition Force’s second campaign plan. Qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer and as an Information Dominance Corps Officer she also served afloat in USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER (CVN 69) and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73). As a flag officer she oversaw the global operations of the Navy’s offensive and defensive cyber forces, served as the director of the North American Aerospace Defense/U.S. Northern Command telecommunications and computer networking efforts, served as Vice Director for Command, Control and Computer Systems on the Joint Staff and was Deputy Chief Information Officer for the Department of Defense’s operational telecommunications and computer networks and cyber technology infrastructure. She was the senior officer and community leader for the Navy’s Information Professional officer corps. Her highest military award is the Defense Distinguished Service Medal. She holds master’s degrees in the Management of Information Systems and Business Administration from Boston University (High Honors in both programs) and National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College (Presidential Honor Graduate). Known for both technical and leadership expertise she occasionally speaks and consults in the arenas of cyber technologies and leadership, particularly leadership and women. Originally from Medina, OH, she now resides during the week in our nation’s capital and on weekends at Fair Winds Farm in Lancaster County, PA, where she and her husband are developing a lavender crop, and raising alpaca and Finnsheep for the artisanal fiber market, and she is the east coast member of the knitwear design studio TwinSet Designs. She is married to Dale Hamby and proud mother of two grown children, and grandmother of one exceedingly brilliant grandson.
